Did the customer specify a tower block development in the wood? Bad practice like that! What's the world coming to?!

No unfortunately not, the estate team had just taken delivery of a new digger and they were excited to try digging some stumps out with it! 

The first thing they need to learn is that a high stump makes fk all difference unless the digger is 20t plus. 'High stumps for leverage' is an old wives tale.

 

Stumps are removed from the roots upwards. A ripper tooth helps. All a high stump does is give them something to rip pipes off when  they finally get bored of tipping the digger up towards the stump and decide that it might actually be a good idea to loosen a tap root...
