So yesterday I smashed my elbow into a stub while starting the little Echo. You know that horrible nerve that sends electric needles down to your third and fourth fingers.

Today I did exactly the same thing. I now struggle bend my arm at the elbow.

Hence my posting on this thread.

Anyone using the 200 battery? Or smaller. I'm not interested in the big 300 battery. How do the smaller ones last? I obviously don't intend to use it for takedowns.

Also, what difference is there in the Chargers? Why is it worth buying the £50 or £100 one when I assume the £30 will charge a battery overnight.

The smaller ap 115 battery is ultra light and saw is virtually unnoticeable, for larger trees I use the older ap 180 which does itself proud.Has for charging I use the cheap charger and 3-4 hours the ap 180 is fully charged .

Just to change the subject a little: I just got a Makita battery hedge trimmer. 18v so I can use my drill batteries and charger. £99 via Amazon. Very light and seems power full enough to trim small to medium hedges.

Included in the packaging was a promotion flyer from Dewalt for their new XR flex volt system. 54v 6.0AH batteries and charger. The batteries are also "backwards compatible" meaning they can run 18v tools as well.

This seems like a big step forward in battery tools although I think dewalt only do construction tools, not gardening. They are claiming mains power performance without the wires.

Hopefully makita and others will follow.

I know stihl, husky and others do 36v backpack batteries but I think this is very progressive thinking by dewalt.

Battery power is the way forward!

AR 3000 stihl battery over the husky equivalent which is a couple of hundred more and seems to have about 100wh less power , Any body know why ? Or which is the favourite ? This will make be the breaker over what systems too get

Looking at the back pack batteries for the brush cutters and hedge cutters more , will be getting one in the future Paul it's just the same old bloody question... Stihl or husky??

Having used the stihl yesterday I can honesty say I don't think I've ever been as disappointed in a saw , what a pile of junk a blunt ms150 would of been quicker.......please tell me the husky is better before I write off the battery idea all together.
