I have this phone for work, I swear it's bombproof!! Can't tell you the model though! It's nothing fancy but for calls and texts it's perfect. I had a tantrum a few weeks back and bounced it around the workshop... I picked the pieces up, put it together and it still works!! Big respect!

I had that same phone a while ago. I lost it on a site down the back of a large wet field, or so I thought. Checked everywhere whilst phoning it from a mate's phone. It was ringing. Checked all around where we were working. Checked the path from the road to the site. Checked the whole field pretty much. Gave up after about 40 minutes of looking. Just as we were closing the gate to leave, I heard a feint ringing, and there it was, fully submerged in the the track marks of the chipper, in about 8 inches of water. It had been there for about 3 hours and tracked over by a 6 inch woodchipper. Pulled it out, shook off the excess water, dried it, and it worked perfectly. Awesome build quality.

I gave in to the smartphone lure shortly after that, but I still have the phone, and it still works.

Why not just get a good protective case for your current phone? Plenty of good solid cases made now, check out Spigen.

Yep that's the way to go, Lifeproof Fre is a great case, pretty much bomb proof, waterproof to 2m also.

Not cheap but saved my iPhone numerous times.

I had a HTC explorer for 5 years in pocket every day and when climbing did not brake, after a cock up by EE had to get a new phone so replaced it with another.

I think I've got the predecessor to that one (without a camera) and it's years old and just keeps on going. think it was about £20 including £10 of credit.

Batteries not right clever now but it's been the most reliable phone I've had :thumbup1:

Went and got the aldi one! Seems good, nice and chunky, solid enough feeling. Got a torch, basic internet and camera, decent fm radio, slot for microsd for pictures and music, call recording function etc. Not too bad for £40!
