any miracle cures for tennis elbow?

The only real cure is to stop doing the things that cause it! Prevention is better than cure!

The guys have covered all the remedies and things that help a bit.

 

I`m with steve on this one,,I had it bad,and the main instigator was my motor bike,and one handed chainsawing, so have cut down on both,I did use a neopreme bandage,but sweats like crazy and itches..

Sometimes it's possible to change the way you do things and if that may mean taking a bit longer, buying lighter tools or getting someone else to do the things that aggravate it.

 

I worked as an IRATA climber for a long time and ascending ropes always set off tennis elbow, until I started using a chest harness with an ascender on it and both hands on the handled ascender.

 

I appreciate that that's not the way you lot go about climbing trees or ascending ropes, but stopping doing what causes it until it gets better and then a change in your working habits would possibly help a lot.

 

Taking pills, a bit of MTFU and carrying on is a great way to make it worse.

Dodgy Elbows | Dr Julian Saunders

 

Read this and give the appropriate negative dumbell excercises a good couple of months, then a tens machine if no dice. Note his opinions on straps etc, he is not wrong. Saunders regime has fixed many climbers I know, mainly by understanding what the cause of the problem is. Good luck with it

Uncalled for, never dealt with a more humble, kind, yet informed man in my life, and his advice on topic is sound here.

 

Pretend frends are a people who take and don't give,only seeing there side of things...maybe those who don't understand that, and resort to pouting instead, should take pause for thought. :001_smile:

Some good therapy advice above. Cortisone injections should be a last resort. Plenty of studies to show they do more harm than good long term.

 

Exactly, identifying the repetitive movement causing it and avoiding such is the best way for recovery, though it's not always easy to adapt and practice.

 

Strapping is good, but only in conjunction with the above, or you are not adressing the main issue.:001_smile:
