RIP indeed- sad day for BBC radio. For those who live in the Devon area- Tony Beard from BBC radio Devon (and generally legendary Devonian)- has also passed away at a similar age.

A sad loss. I think it is bad of the bbc for getting his name wrong considering all he did for them.

Too many is such a short period of time....

 

Just to add, OH lost an aunt to brain cancer too 2 weeks ago. So it's made us notice deaths a bit more.....

I think it's hits home harder as we get older and people we grew up with pass away, I remember in 1974 an 11 year old in the car with my mother driving to school listening and laughing with Wogan in the morning.

When he didn't do Children in Need I thought it must be serious.

I just mentioned to the kids in the yard that Terry Wogan has passed away and two replied "who is he"? , another replied "what is passed away"?

 

He was so much more than just a radio dj or tv presenter. RIP Terry.
