Had a sycamore we felled and ringed up yesterday to split today. About 24” stem 15ft long - normally love splitting this but it’s horrible, gnarly and a pita. Wish I’d given it away to my normal connie log collector. Portek 7ton impact splitter can’t touch it so starting off some lumps with x27 before using alko 4 ton hydraulic. Some pieces will be sawn into cubes, some may just go on the bonfire as it’s too labour intensive to get decent sized logs out of it.
