Oh yea, I must of missed this earlier...

Let me explain, during the Falklands conflict, I was sort of conflicted myself.

I despised the media hype surrounding the whole thing, the ships sailing off into the sunset, British soldiers singing don't cry for me Argentina and all the other crap surrounding the "Invasion of the Falklands"..

Great Britain reduced to fighting for a penguin Island, how anyone wouldn't find that sad is beyond a joke...

Then theres Thatcher the milk snatcher... anyone else but her in charge please...

So yea, as far as I'm concerned the Falklands conflict wasn't some glorious victory against the odds, but some sordid little conflict fought to get Thatcher re-elected...

Then theres the lies, Thatcher lying through her back teeth about a ship she had sunk, sayin it was heading towards the task force..

It was heading out away from the exclusion zone, but she had it torpedoed and lied about why she sank it..

Yea, I'd forgotten about that...

Milk Snatcher and Liar to boot...

Thanks for making my point, your reply continues to speak volumes.

You display a total ignorance of the strategic aim, the tactical significance and the moral obligation of the Falklands campaign.

In so doing you also seem hell bent on rubbishing the determination, grit and resolve of those charged with reclaiming the Islands and ignoring the rights of the residents of those islands who sought protection from an invading dictatorship state.

For someone who claims to despise the media so much you also seem keen enough to utilise the very same media slurs ("milk snatcher") and misinformation you claim to be so passionately opposed to.

Does this indicate an inconsistency in your drivel or does it simply demonstrate your willingness to suckle at the teat of the socialist media whilst discarding anything that isn't published by the red press?

There is some merit in the comparison of the political will that existed in '82 and was applied to the FI campaign as related to the IS scenario of today.

Wether ARA Belgrano was heading towards or away from the exclusion zone in '82 is irrelevant. It was a significant military asset with the capability to effect damage in the vicinity of a conflict. What do you think they were there for - whale watching?

It's that kind of single minded determination that is needed to contain, control and eliminate the global influence of IS and all it's constituent parts.

Those that don't have the stomach for it can curl up in the corner and contemplate the consequences of submission to their new faith whilst someone else fixes the problem.

Excellent post, particularly in not falling into the trap of identifying Muslims in general with ISIS/IS or whatever the media is calling them today. :thumbup1:

Im no fan of the Israelis but Mossad seem to know how to deal with these sorts. Targeted assassinations. Hit them in all and ANY country we are able to.

Pete, you have hit the nail on the head as far as I am concerned. S.F. is the way to go, you cannot negotiate with ISIS, just as you can't with rabid dogs. You put them down. How can you beat terrorists who don't give fat rat's arse if they die or not, you can't. I see on this morning's news that some of the suspects were thought to have entered by posing as refugees via Greece. No doubt someone on here will correct me or accuse me of scaremongering. By the by, yesterday my wife packed a load of clothes in bags for these self same refugees to give in to a local pick up point.

Excellently put Kevin. I'm sure that there must be one or two Falkland veterans who read this forum. I wonder what they think?
