If you can't comprehend that top handled saws are any more dangerous than rear handled saws, I'm not sure you should be using any saws :001_rolleyes:

I one hand a saw every day. On that basis a top handle is much safer for me :)

What?? Ban top handled chainsaws? So would I have to prune a tree with my ms461 or something?!?! Seems a bit unlikely to me. Having the directive to produce a cs39 certificate is not outside of the realms of possibility and probably a good thing.

I gained my cs39 using a rear handle 200. If anything it promoted better work positioning and I prefer to use a rear handle on a pole.

Just stating every saw is dangerous not only top handles I have watched many customers using saws and had to stop them and show them how to, also seen so called trained people using them.

Explain how it's more dangerous than an ms880 with a 6 foot bar?! Actually could someone explain how my ms150t is more dangerous than my 385xp?

The saws are no more dangerous than each other! The difference is the moron holding the throttle! Regarding one-handed operation, I've used every saw one handed at some point, toppers are designed so! Cut and hold is the habit where the danger lies!

I have a custom built top handled 346xp which I occasionally use one handed, great on big removals. I cant show any pics as Husqvarna would want to copy it.

I can't tell if you're being serious Tim.

I want one though!

Its idiotic arguments like this that will lead to a ban.

Holding a saw from the top with only one hand cannot possible have the same control as holding a saw with both hands, where one of the handles is well back giving mechanical advantage.

I've been been one handing 020's for 20 years, I accept they are dangerous, this is probably why I have not cut myself.
