Blame it on the trend in our culture toward socialism. Erosion of values, passivity and a victim mentality. Not to mention entitlement. Testosterone levels are down too, down a lot compared to our grandfathers. Wussification of boys in school. I could go on....

I have gone through 3 this week! 1 turned up 15 mins late for interview, 1 decided that stood round the side of the van on the phone watching me kill myself moving log was best, and the other stood on the pavement covered in chip & twigs with the blower shovel & brush at his feet for 15 mins whilst I was on the blower to a client before I had to tell him to clear up! Wtf is wrong with folk? First impressions count for everything when your wanting work. Work hard, leave ur fags and phone alone till snap time, use your common sense and don't wait to be told what to do, have a laugh get paid go home! Folk don't wanna work at all!!;

 

This is what puts me off growing any bigger, it can be very hard to find good team players:confused1:

I had someone not turn up for their first days work today.

Phones me at 5 saying his sister has a collapsed lung so the hospital has put her in an induced coma!

Then some reason I forget about no charge on phone as I was trying to decide if he was taking the piss or not!

What can you say in a situation like that? It could be true but it sounds bonkers to me. Any thoughts

In that instance you give them the benefit of the doubt as soon enough you will find out if they are taking the piss or not. It's unfortunate but these things happen. If it continues to happen then sack them off but if you sack them off straight away you may have just lost a bloody good worker.

If he has made that story up then he is a low life ****, who doesnt deserve to be employed!!

I am with you on the erosion of values, passivity and a victim mentality but I am struggling to see how you are linking that to the human hormone thing, I see plenty of youth wanting to have a go on a Friday night:confused1:
