Corbyn Elected

Just watched it on Iplayer. Must have been a different edit from the version you watched?

My condensed take on the on the English edit:

Sandy Toksvig came across as sharp, smart and on trend (excluding refugee intake and National Anthem comments)

Liz Truss came across as weak, dull, tired and trotting out the same old party line

John McDonnell is either trying very hard to make a genuine difference or he is the most polished confidence trickster I've seen in a good while. Lady in the audience asked the question (at about the mid way point) which nicely summed this up - "are you just saying whatever you think people want to hear?")

Alex Salmond similar to Liz Truss, banging the same old tired drum with nothing new or inspirational to add (thought of you when he miss quoted verse 6 as verse 4!)

Tim Stanley - every word was well considered and 100% worth saying

As for "bossing", the show I watched gave greatest exposure / FaceTime to John McDonnell. Let's hope it's not just a fake veneer of competence and acceptability that will be peeled back to expose the Marxist beneath.

I must make a point of watching that version too.

The left really do need to beat a different drum now, they just bang on relentlessly promising to write cheques that are going to bounce. The easiest way to spark off unrest in the city ( which basically rule our lives contrary to what most believe) is to relax government spending, increase wages, spark off inflation and pump money into harebrained schemes. You can then watch helplessly as pension funds fall out of bed, interest rates rise and economic suicide ensues. As for Corbyn , what a choice :confused1:. His three marriages say enough about his decision making skills.

I'm not in agreement with Corbyn on a lot of things but I for one cannot see how public ownership of the railway is a bad thing. The railway systems in the Netherlands and Australia are both publicly owned and put ours to shame.

We have a different work ethos

I'm a bit young to remember the British Rail days but I hear plenty of stories.

In my view privatisation is good as it streamlines things and cuts out government red tape. Encourages enterprise and initiative without necessarily being all for profit and capitalist.

You only have to look at any government run organisation such as councils HMRC, the Forestry Commission etc to see this.
