It's the leaving stuff on site after we've left that annoys me most, and when it's discovered a saw is missing they're all "home with the kids now" so I usually get the pleasure of hunt the saw with a headtorch. Notably, they never forget about taking all their own climbing gear with them.

Yes, my current hired man is world class at that.

We left a rope in a tree once ( not on purpose ) . Went back to do another job for the customer about 6 months later and collected it then . 🙂

My favourite used to be my lid, put it down while on the rake at end of a job and leaving it behind.

Hand guard on husqvarna 3120 broke Thursday no one got one in stock and need saw next week. So plated it and filled hole on face were its lattice.

After 2 days of being piss wet in the wind blow from hell, this was the final straw.

I hadn't cut enough of the wood underneath because of access. That caused the wood fibers to rip and snatch the saw,  driving it into the ground.

Just came on here to post todays fix, then realised that @aspenarb did this repair on the very first post of this thread!!

Slight squeal off the belt when turning a corner when tracking.

 

No before photo, the hydraulic pump bracket was being pulled apart.

Took the bracket to a friend in his late 70's who's a good welder (and general mechanic)

 

It's now stronger than when it left the factory, thankfully I got it in time before it did any further damage

Saw this on Facebook. Not me, obviously, but I can only imagine how awful this would be! I'm impressed how well the cab stood up to it, considering it ripped the bogies off.
