Ok thanks,

Not being all "I'm so concientious" or anything but does anyone else regularly remove the air filter on their chippers and give it a blow over with an ail line/blower between services?

Normally do a few times in between services, especially after dry/dusty jobs but as i've been off the tools since Christmas, i'm relying on the guys checking it once in a while.

Under those circumstances I suggest a piece of bamboo about 2mtrs long comes in handy, to repeatedly strike them as they run around the yard!

I prefer a length of alcathene pipe personally as tends not to leave deep bruising ;-)

on a Sandalwood chipping job the air filter would block after only 2 hours chipping and every half hour you would have to empty the bowl

Horrible stinking dust got into every little nook and cranny on the truck:thumbdown:

I can honestly say I've never seen an air filter that bad before :adore: They have my sincerest admiration.

That'll teach you to put a diverter in front of a main relief valve, done the same myself when I depended on the relief valve in the spool block but I think I just burst a hose.

Your right of course but its taken over ten years to find an idiot that will pull a lever he knows nothing about, for all he knew a hammer could have popped out of a locker and beat him over the head.

Anyway new pump fitted

and a pressure relief valve so now extra idiot proof

I bought a small forklift 3 years ago that had the original 1986 air filter in it with 3000 hrs on the clock. Mind it did not look as impressive as yours
