UKIP's value is in upsetting the complacency of the mainstream parties but I would be deeply concerned if they got their hands on any real power as they seem to lack any actual defined policies. They have successfully tapped into people's concerns about immigration, fuelled by the media. I have a problem with immigrants entering the UK with the intent of taking more then they give in return. I have just as much of a problem with homegrown wasters who have no intention of working to support themselves when they are happy to take from those of us who do. I don't have the answers to people already in the UK but the immigration problem can be solved by adopting the stance taken by Australia (I think it was Tony Rudd but not 100% on that) which was to say if you want to come to Australia to integrate and contribute, you will be welcomed, but if you want to come for other reasons you should stay away. I am fully aware that this country could not function without immigrant labour. I have no idea as to how I will vote but I am leaning towards the status quo as they don't seem to be doing too bad a job on the economy. No politician will ever do everything that you want but you need more to vote for the one whose policies damage your interests the least. :001_rolleyes:

Don't vote for the status quo Felix, vote for change - keep them on their toes:thumbup1:

Because without change democracy can't function effectively - you'd exclude a sizeable minority from representation, thats not healthy

Just because your chosen party is not in power does not mean your are not represented.

We have local government and an "opposition". The government does always get its own way.

the best example of how to sort out corruption in goverment is Iceland, no coveage in the media, and very little being said about it anywhere else, the inhabitants had a peoples revolution, kicked out the goverment, jailed the bankers, rewrote the constitution, getting rid of the crap that they hadnt voted for that benifitted the "ruling" classes, and installwed a goverment of common folk who actually knew what was going on in the real world, they have gone from being bankrupt to a thiving country in a very short time and no politicians have gotten rich on somebody elses work. It would be wonderfull if something along those lines could work here, but too many corrupt officials to jail, there just isnt the space for them all
