On the of road front, I recon a landy will go up or down just as steep a slope as a mog if not steeper so long as you dont need the ground clearence. I have driven both quite a lot, the sheer bulk of the mog is its downfall although i once drove a mog through some really deep mud whilst on a building site and theres no way my landrover would have done it what ever the tyres.

I recon my little tractor would outclimb either though.

 

You're right about the ldv though, you just need to think about mud and it gets stuck.

I used to have a 1750 mog on 28 inch rims, the biggest problem was the sheer weight of the thing. I also used to have 2 130's and a couple of 110's. Both would go places the maog would just sink.

At the end of the day its horses for courses.

I sank my unimog to the chassis rails when the chipper's vibrations caused it to sink.All the while I was feeding the chipper with the excavator thinking that the feed tray was getting lower because the hydralics were creeping!

Stevebullman, I have about 5 and a half sets of those guards,half a set went into the grinder !, They are worth every penny for saftey and saving time on clean up. My last job today was a 6foot dia. mac stump encroaching onto a childs grave and other graves I put up three guards in place and no mess on graves. I find it makes life easier.
