Thank you for your kind thoughts. The NHS did a good job of bringing me back from the edge but the doctors prognosis is not good. My right hand side is weak beyond belief and i have to face up to the fact that i will never be able to go back to climbing again.

I cant even type properly and the wife is typing this as we speak. So a new career path is going to be needed. I dont know what yet but i have plenty of time to think about it.

Stay safe and look after your health it was a great surprise to me to find that i am not invinsible. Andy.

We all know we are not invincible but we keep that thought at the back of our minds and ignore it most of the time, wish you all the best mate, we are lucky to have NHS, even if it is underfunded and stretched to the limit.

There are a lot of chaps and chapesses on here who are wishing you the best. I hope you can take comfort in that and use it for a speedy recovery and can find something new to put your mind to. I don't know you personally but have found your posts a good read and from a different perspective. In my line of work we have a few residents who have suffered strokes in there prime. Some of them have a real no nonsense, **** happens attitude with a good hint of sarcasm. I think you are going to be fine !!. Keep posting.

Some of you may have noticed my absence from arbtalk lately.

Well having a heart attack and stroke does kind of put you off your.game for a week or two but 5 weeks in hospital and I'm about as cured as I'm going to be. So look out guys I'm back.

Sounds like you've taken a kickin, Mr Quip.

Hope you get back to some sort of normality soon.
