It's a good point Arran.

Modern techniques will definitely prolong a climbers working lifespan at commercial pace.

I dunno, they're definitely easier on the body, but then they're faster too. So instead of spending half, even a whole day on a tree you can probably do 5, 10, more even. I reckon it'll balance out in the end.
