Pfanner . Pay a bit more but last a lot longer .

What he said

Zermatts work out at about £100 per year and a bit less for gladiators and thats full time contract climbing.

See Ruskin for guidance

It is unwise to pay too much, but it's worse to pay too little.

Airstreams and pffaner stretch airs!! The dogs.....

Agree, also on the rotation thing.

Another good tip is not to wear your chainsaw gear if you don't need it.

You don't want to be digging out stumps in £200 boots.

Doesn't matter how well I treat them, a good pair of chainsaw boots will last me a year. Can't put a price on comfort, they're worth it. Like Hodge says, £4 a week puts it in perspective.

Good boots, good bed, good woman.... you know the rest.

:thumbup1: that's why I use chaps for milling and have got 16yrs out of them so far. Slightly more raised eyebrows if you take your trousers off after cutting....

I have 3 pairs of chainsaw trousers and 2, pairs of climbing boots ( airstrems) and various chsinsaw boots and rotate using them. They all get equal wear but not constant and last for ages.

I do the same shires and seems to last longer. Obviously it doesnt. Means u always have clean kit to wear. Same with ropes

It sounds expensive and I spose it is at first but seems to work for me. I save wearing my old hi flex for conies,2 pairs,my engalbert Strauss for ground work and my new best arbortec for nice trees and easy climbs. Don't use my airstrems for ground work only for climbing. Have a couple of pairs of ranger boots for that.:thumbup:
