Looks like the spikes are the right way round to me? Thats how I wear mine with the padding to the front where the pressure is on your shins as your legs are locked straight. Is that the wrong way? I don't think so.

Padding to the front ( but wrap all around velcro ) ankle straps to the out side . Twisted Bashlins so handed any way . But... not going up a tree again as just sold them ...so dont care anymore
