One of my lads car wouldn't start this morning.. He normally picks up another of the lads.... I am therefore in a position of having a tractor driver and groundie with no climber.. and the other team of 4 guys having to wait for their groundie to turn up as he is now late.

 

He then is off with me for being short with him on the phone..

Cars don't start, accidents cause jams on motorways, buses are late or break down. Stuff happens. No point stressing unless it's a regular excuse/occurence. Couldn't the groundie that was in gone with the other crew?

Seems like your man is taking the piss. End of the day if he's your friend or not it affects your business/image/schedule and everything else. He either sorts himself out or finds other means of work imo.

Also he can mess things up from his side, you won't recommend him as a good worker therefore he won't get work elsewhere. There are plenty of lads out there wanting tree work who are enthusiastic enough to get outa bed.

I'm not surprised he was "off" with you for being short with him on the phone!

 

His car broke down, he can't get himself and his work colleague to work. And he's probably going to get a bill to fix his car.

 

The last thing he needs is his boss getting on to him.
