if you want good service your own manager who will come out to see you.

then coutts drawback have to be nominated by a customer who banks with them and need lots of money.

Is this something you really need??

Yorkshire Bank was very good, really nice manager who came out to see me and massaged my ego, sure it made me feel special and wanted, but they still had to check with head office for approval of all borrowing etc. Now I ring a call centre, they have all my details at their finger tips and approve things in minuets.

I liked Yorkshire, but I was not prepared to pay £35 per month for them to have my money in their account.

I just need a simple account, dont need to call them, speak to them etc

Lookin at the break down £30 was for Paid Referral fee, guessing over limit (no overdraft remeber?

35p per electronic payment (lots)

90p £100 for cash payment

65p per cheque payment

It was a very busy month but still, add this up over a year, its going to be a hell of a lot.

Will call round on Tuesday for some other prices.

Hi

One more vote from me for Santader business banking, been using them for about 5 years now & absolutely perfect for our needs.

The only minor niggle is they punt the Trusteer Raport software which is OK, but I have my own security solution.

I had free banking with barclays years ago as long as we had 7k in the acct. Then they changed it. Then they lost 40k of cheques and took 6 weeks to own up and sort it. Then 18 months later they did exactly the same again. They also demanded a six month torture/interigation/interview to see if they could sell you ppi or similar. Been with santander about 10 years no charges no mistakes

Would'nt touch Natwest with someone elses they will screw you 7 ways from sunday and continue to deny any wrong doing despite any evidence you provide to the contrary :sneaky2:

I had a real nightmare with Natwest last year. I went into the local branch to shut down an old savings account that wasn't used anymore. Some how they managed to close my current account at the same time, even though it had about £4k in it at the time! It took over 30 phone calls (almost daily) and visits to the bank to get it sorted. SIX weeks in all!!!

Did I mention that even though the account was under investigation they still kept sending me fines for not paying standing orders and direct debits.

They did compensate me in the end, but it don't half make things difficult when everything is on stop.
