Not sure if it's already been mentioned but you can get Halfords | Garage Equipment | Workshop Equipment | Garage Storage Solutions | (6 drawer tool centre, 150 piece Socket set and 8 Piece screw driver set) for £200 at the moment, normal price altogether would be £440. Not the best drawers but for essentially free might be worth a go?

They're also doing offers on some of the nicer drawer sets too at the moment.

Snap On was mentioned a few days ago on this thread.

I 'invested' in some torx drivers from Snap On a couple of years ago as I was wearing out the likes of Draper and Halfords in a couple of years.

The Snap On have been every bit as poor, despite being about 4 times the cost, and yesterday the T8 just sheared off! (this was about the only one which has not worn out, as it has only been used a very few times)

Never again. Facom only from now on.

if you have a ex mod place nearby then can get some good tools for a lot less than some of the new stuff plus its good kit.

if it was ex RAF then there tools are good. maybe 40 years plus old but tools then were made not just made in the thousands without any quality control.

son in law got a set from liddle and there ok do not use them much but do the job.

I used to think well of snap on but their service is pants! It took them about 4 weeks to replace a ratchet screwdriver that belonged to a mate of mine!

I have a bahco set that i got off the reduced shelf at B&Q for 20 dabs which has been fine!!

How about Wurth or Mac tools, what are folks opinions on these??

thanks john441
