just read their update! their making yet another modification to the zig zag, do they have in house testers?? or do they just get shmucks like me to pay 200 euro for the privilage of testing their gear.... classic. lol

Lyon Equipment Lyon are the UK Petzl supplier and will only be happy to help, also best to contact the dealer you bought them from.

 

No issues in replacing them at all if its in regards to the cracking etc.

Basically Jon they're not tough enough to endure the rigours of climbing in some cases. They shouldn't be being shock loaded as they suppose the climber.

 

If this piece of kit was to fail catastrophically would it end up with the climber being on the deck?

 

 

Yes. I think there is only one instance though where a climber has been injured. All I've heard is second hand info though.

 

This device attaches the climber to his line. There are plenty using them with no problems mind.

Just had two fail there LOLER checks. Tried to email Petzl but there contact page keeps saying error so I posted on there Facebook page. What have others had to do to get them replaced. [ATTACH]192618[/ATTACH][ATTACH]192619[/ATTACH][ATTACH]192620[/ATTACH]

 

 

I think just taking/posting them back to the retailer works. Are they mark 3's?

My flab is ghasted! This piece of kit seems to pop up on here way to often. I'd use one of those prusick things to be on the safe side...... From someone that ain't got a clue what he's talking about.:001_rolleyes:
