Copying for production is where the issue lies Drew. Personal-use copies dont hurt anyone, unless they break. Having the means and know-how to fabricate is actually a really cool thing:thumbup1: The lawful side that treequip has touched on is definitely something to be aware of though.

Well the HSE are concerned with breaches of primary legislation so they are the main "they" but there are also plenty of ambulance chasers ready to join the "they" brigade if someone got hurt or suffers loss. The "they" camp gets bigger if your insurers have something in the T&C about only using proprietary kit.

I was one of the "make your own" brigade, I have an rc2001 and am v pleased witk it, I can't be arsed trying to make stuff like this, I cant do it as well as stein and like the arbo trolley its actually pretty good value for money.

But only when things go wrong... I am not advocating using non CE equipment just stating that there is no one out there to stop you. In ten years no one apart from people paid or employed by me have ever inspected my kit.
