You charge more for large logs:001_huh: Less cuts and easier handling is my thinking and was wondering about selling them for less but maybe not now

What they don't know will not hurt them, plus usually there that surprised i cut to order that i could charge double or treble and they would not care.

IMHO people get too hung up and make things to complicated with log size. My processor from new has been set at 9in and I havent moved it. We have a small log burner and I know what fits in that so I tend to judge logs etc on that. Altho the processor is set at 9", i can trick it to do 7-8 and 11-12 (every 1/3 log if that makes sense) without changing settings. I dont entertain people who want a whole load of sub 8", to much more work and more wood as well. If I have a couple of chunky logs go through, I just laugh with the customer and say its their night log, or the man of the house looks like he likes to swing an axe etc! I always ask what size customers want, but in reality 95% of my loads that leave the yard are around the 9" mark.

HAD SOME STUDENTS IN ON A COURSE WHO WERE CROSS CUTTING - eeks caps oops...

guidance was 9in ... they even had a nice guide stick to judge by - and weell i guess the guys were the ones over compensating - quite a few foot lengths - and the girsl ones were all shorter - but perfectly square.

We have people, even with large 12-14Kw fires, who think that 2 x 6" logs delivered is better value than 1 x 12".

We want to deliver as big as their stoves can take with a few smaller well split for good measure.

Less handling for them and us. It also depends how they run their stoves?
