As Homer Simpson said 'What.. they've even got computers on the internet now'?

I read in a paper the other week that Stihl had been forced to review their sales policy as it contravened EU regulations.

What Homer said was....

Maybe I can clear things up here.

The new policy yet to be announced by Stihl will state that ANY machine with an exposed blade will NOT be allowed for sale on the net. So this is chainsaws, hedge cutters ect , even strimmers that are CAPABLE of taking a blade!!

Until this is published dealers are supposed to adhere to the previous policy. I have been notified of a few dealers flouting this, so I have been phoning that dealer posing as a customer, if I find out they are willing to despatch i have reported those dealers to Stihl. If they persist then they will have their dealership taken away from them.

Lets leave the online products to B&Q shall we?

God bless Stihl, they really want to hand all their business over to Husqvarna, Echo, Dolmar, Makita.........etc:001_rolleyes::lol:

I can see perhaps why it could be a good idea but with a strong undercurrent of FORCING you to purchase where they WANT you to purchase from and assuming all purchasers are home users with NO experience of the product:001_rolleyes:

Anyone know a good Human Rights Lawyer:thumbup:

Gone are the days where stihl dealers are driving Porsches with personal plates ... Looks like they have to really work for it now maybe that's why are Scottish friend is so resentful, but I'm not sure why he's putting it on here ??? As so far his only argument for keeping sales local was for an old guy with an fs50 so it looks like he can't even grasp his customers using arbtalks needs..

I am writing this on an Apple MacBook Pro 8years old. Did not cost me a penny(as it was given to me) But in that time it has NEVER gone wrong runs and runs. The thing is on 8-10 hours a day. I have a newer mac to use the latest OS but that one is for on the road.

Did I say I was an Apple service tekki in a past life. Now I cut trees:thumbup1:

Apple quality? It has always been pretty good. My experience is that people that have problems, would have problems with every computer, car, phone they have, whatever make!:001_tongue:
