Now there is some truth that will hurt :001_tt2:

if i was to smoke 10 joints i would be in no worse a state than if i just smoked a couple but try doing that with alcohol and see the difference.

Is that just your opinion or is there some science behind that?

if you really want to feel bad you should try 10 joints after 10 pints... man that sucks :puke:

10 joints before 10 pints isnt so bad but i cant handle even 2 pints so it still ends up the same with me :puke:

probably why i dont do either any more:thumbup1:

Smoking weed, snorting coke and drinking alcohol isnt that bad and doesnt really have that big an effect on working.

According to the people that abuse it.:laugh1:

I've known a few dope smokers over the years, I think the name is pretty apt.

What Skyhuck said!

I've known and worked with loads of puffers over the years and the best way to describe them is mildly incompetent in all aspects.

I've also known a few very occasional smokers who were not like that but the regulars are always useless.

Booze can be just as bad and I had to sack a guy once because he would still be tanked up every Monday morning.

As for smoking dope while at work, instant dismissal. I don't know anyone who would tolerate employees drinking at work so why should smoking dope be viewed any differently?

The original question was about compulsory drug testing

An employer can make random testing a condition of employment so if you want to remain employed it is compulsory. A lot of companies working for bigger outfits have had to adopt random testing as a condition of the contract and had to pass it on to the staff.

Going industry wide would need government legislation. I don’t see that happening.

I have no issue whatsoever with anyone who likes to indulge in their cgemicals, whether it's beer, weed, crack etc,as long as it doesn't affect me in any way. Smoking dope on site? Well that's just totally disrespectful to me, the client and the company and I would have no qualms in getting them sacked.

The often heard arguement from the smokers is that, oh, it's ok, it doesn't effect me. Apart from that being a scientifically proven falacy, if that genuinely was the case, then why bother smoking at all? This is such a dangerous industry, anyone who increases the risk of injury to themselves and the others around them by taking psychoatives in the workplace should not have any place in arb'.

RDTing is a tricky one though, as it doesn't differentiate between those who have the odd weekend indulgence and those who take the proverbial and see nothing wrong in smoking at work. We wouldn't tolerate a workmate who cracked open a can or two of Special Brew at lunch, so why does anyone think smoking weed is any different?

This is an interesting thread and has shown up some interesting opinions on the subject.

You are kidding yourself if you think smoking gear doesn't affect the way you work.... it's a drug and it's going to have an effect.
