What size motor did you use on your skidding winch unit Eddie as contemplating putting 1 on my farmi 501 so it can go on front links on valtra, I've got 76lpm at 196bar apparently, just for times when I've got trailer on aswell bit need to winch something within reach at a decent speed or tip a tree over but still swap it onto the back for more serious skidding work.

I take it you don't have front PTO on the Valtra? if you DM me I'll point you in the right direction.

Nice two piece Boom on the Volvo we don't see over here, and anything Herder should be real quality.

Not wishing to sound negative, but the pipework for the shear could use a bit of a rethink for this environment, and no excuse for not having the top and front of the cab guarded.

You are totally right on the hoses... it was a little improvised for the demonstration...

 

Suchs boom set-ups are rather common over here, most brands offer them and most customer choose them... A cab guard is less common, as we don't have real forestry over here. So most people having an excavator do eartmoving and they do "forestry work" as an extra...
