I've ground the depth gauges all the way down on all my saws, must save a bit of weight right?

Might get my appendix removed too

Take the chain & bar off too - loads of weight saved that way :001_tt2:

I'm glad people are getting more from there saws at last :thumbup1:

The case is plastic but there's that big metal piston and cylinder. That weighs a fair bit so take that out. Put a plastic cranking handle on the side of the sprocket so you can still cut with it

Buy a silky and just use that. It's very goo door the environment. And it's dirt cheap fuel wise.

Also get a good workout on that 9inch stuff.

Even then the silky has a heavy rubber handle

Just what I thought. You could also try a few holes drilled into the blade. Remember to file the burrs, even burrs weigh something. And forget carrying the scabbard.

Years ago, demon tweeks used to do a kit consisting of discs that packed onto a stack in the exhaust, the theory being that by adding discs and therefore back-pressure that low down torque increases and by removing discs to increase exhaust flow, top end power would go up. Not sure it sold in big numbers but the principle was right. In the context of saws tho, definitely want to reduce back pressure...
