Support your industry shows

How many Arbtalkers will make the effort to attend our industry shows, at present there are so many threads on here in relation to past shows poorly attended, manufacturers changes in distribution policy and lots of new products being launched to the market.

 

Where better a place to see, hear, discuss and of course take advantage to make your purchase face to face than the shows.

 

Next week is the Arb show in Cirencester on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th take advantage of this and enjoy the craic with your suppliers and fellow Arbtalkers, it's your show which needs your support.

Life can't just be about seminars and trade shows, can it

since most of the shows are south of border, it becomes very expensive for us guys north of the great divide to get to them, how about some a bit further north for a change

I dont think there should be any obligation to attend shows, or to feel pressured into supporting them. They are trade shows after all, they need our money to exist and if we aint got any through the actual work which we do then the turnouts are going to be poor.

 

And if the shows are poor then no one will go. We can mail order (most) of want we want and veiw it all on the tinternet, so there are plenty of choices. We the tree surgeons make this industry not the sellers of kit or training providers, they work for us not the other way round. That sounds harsher than its meant but what I mean is that the workers ARE the industry, the suppliers are secondary to that yet most make a lot more money, we should not feel any pressure to attend any shows.
