hmmm if it is false, someone is pretty sick. saying climber fallen out the tree and is injured is proper not on. Either way better its false and there is no injured climber and hopefully not too much damage to the product name. i know mine will not be used until this whole thing is sorted out.

I just cant see someone stupid enough to perpetrate a hoax like that against a player like petzl.

They have lawyers who will crucify you and take everything you own or ever will own

Would be great to see a brand new one strength/drop tested, seems to be none on YouTube. Comparing my zz to the picture made me realise how thin the gold cheeks are and how little surface area there is between that and the curvature of the swivel housing.. Ha.. Gold cheeks.

Got a phone call yesterday from a mate in the know giving me a heads up because I use the ZZ about 2 climbers falling from 5m the second from 20m and is in critical shape. I was told it was the swivel that failed:confused1:

The failure looks like a fracture. No signs of deformation of the material below the break point. Must have been been brittle & perhaps subject to torsional stain. It will be interesting to see what petzl make of it

In the interest of science, Treetools will be break testing a ZZ tomorrow to see how many Kn it takes to fail at the splice attachment eye. I think they are re-creating 15 Kn as Petzl claimed to have loaded the eye at 15 Kn for 3 minutes. Look forward to the results ..
