Am I using the wrong 2stroke oil?

Erm. So long as its decent oil doesn't make a blind bit of difference.

 

But I'm worried if I should say this so here is the whisper...

 

 

if you where using aspen there wouldnt be a problem.:lol::lol::lol:

 

So sounds like they are being tight.

 

Why does Stihl say their oil mix at 50:1 but other 'decent' TC oil mix at 25:1?

Seems a radical difference

The Stihl oil will be of higher quality and will have had more development in its manufacturer, 25:1 is more relevent to oils used in the 1980s, Amasoil is mixed at 100:1....and still works!

Apparently marine 2 stroke oil is different though . My mate borrowed an out board but took his own saw fuel and it ran for a short time then stopped and left him all at sea so to speak . He had to row back . The bloke whose out board it was said it was down to the oil ??

Really. I use to use basic 2 stroke oil picked up from my local motor factors, comma oil it was. Used it on the outboard with no problems at all.

 

But I think the marine stuff is down to pollutants going into the water than what the oil is.
