Hi all here is my Massey with a 20 tonne J Silk splitter,just the job.

slack ma girdle below is a couple of photo's of the linkages and a couple of short video's.  Also in side the junction box is a 12v flip flop relay which changes the cylinder control valve direction with the limit switches.

I have only just spotted this machine.  Sorry if it has been posted before but I can keep watching it again and again!

 

Great engineering but I feel the cost of the outfit would need quite a bit of firewood sold to pay for it!

Yea the second model with all the hydraulic adjustment and selection is the " billie bollox "

Yes it is clever on straight bits of birch and it is interesting if you put it up on youtube that the comments seem to be equally divided between those "I want one"  and " too slow, too expensive, no good on anything difficult"

Personally for similar money I would go for a teleporter with log grab, a decent towable pto processor and a log deck. and probably have some change.

You would need a tractor and flatbed to cart the 360 from place to place.

Thats how I see it to. Lots of cuts in the video so guessing sorting out problems or logs falling before splitting. Look at the length of them logs as well. I have just taken orders for around 15m3 in the last couple of days and everyone of them is for 9" logs not 16" plus like in the video. Looks great on Youtube but in the real world?

To be honest the above  comments are spot on . Have seen similar on a " Bobcat " and the whole show was much faster .

Time on my hands at the moment and needed a  more powerful splitter , having seen others and tried I was disapointed with there power and prices.

So I gathered all  my scrap metal and hey ho .

£60 for Ram

£35 for valve and 100 notes for the pipes and fitting I had .

I fitted it to my Saw bench and some will say ....should be  on the other side , not for me has I mainly splitting rings and no Cord lengths. 

Secondly nothing strong enough on the right side. 

Works a treat and I reckon 15t all day .
