At the risk of reigniting the debate, angle grinders both big and small scare me.

Jumpy evil bastards.

Cutting up some old ladders up for scrap with an angle grinder the disc shattered and the things span in to the crutch of a brand new pfanners stopping them in a ball of Kevlar from the saw trousers…. was disappointed in my stupidity for destroying a new pair of £300 trousers but grateful for not cutting my dick off and severing an artery with the angle grinder if I’d been wearing jeans

You are right. These so called tickets are just pieces of paper that won't get you any guarantee of obtaining employment.

No, you’re right, tickets won’t guarantee you getting employment. But also not having the correct tickets will also guarantee you won’t get a job with a lot of companies, probably insurance or work for some clients. I have several clients who want to see all of the blokes tickets? Once they’ve seen them and recorded them that’s it.🤔

Can you not use a power feed? Far less scary then!

Expand

I do use a power feed sometimes but it's an old fashioned machine and scares the life out of me using it. Takes a full minute to power up and the lights in the house dim when I start it up. I have a inverter 240v to 3 phase

Was the guard on when it happened, or...?

Just curious.

Once upon a time, I was using a Stihlsaw to shorten big concrete drainage pipes. For whatever reason, the disc decided to lose its structural integrity. I was wearing my customary rigger boots, and something whacked me on the right one very, very severely. The resulting bruise was something to behold, confirming that it was a very heavy impact.

I still have a sneaking suspicion that my subsequent heart attack may have been at least partly caused by a clot from there wandering off and causing a problem. Fortunately, I was re-plumbed by the medics, and am still going.

My Avatar is the result of an angle grinder disk get nipped in the cut and kicking out leaving a gash at the side of my knee. I use angle grinders a lot that that has been my only injury so far, touching wood.
