i don't really follow you though, I felled the Fir tree tree so their wasn't much left to leave it looking natural.

Isn't the fir actually a Scots pine? .....Just sayin.

I do believe it was a Fir, but I could be wrong and it was cold...  whatever it was, it isn't one of them any more.
