coming back down to earth the bay of thieves has this version

it's not over yet - you will notice a chainsaw chain only has cutters on one side - so those metal rectangles help to orient the chain over the limb - well a double sided one has now exploded onto the market, claiming to cut on either side

Yeah the metal flag orientates the chain, and shows you the orientation too. the double sided chain you posted can still orientate itself on its side, you need that metal flag in my limited experience.

 

It is expensive, but for me, its paid for itself this week already.

It’s surprising how easy a chainsaw chain will cut manually.  We tied a section of chain to a piece of rope each end a couple years ago to fell an ash tree that a large limb had fallen into and was subsequently hung up in
