Ive not used skidsteers much but they can be very capable tool carriers,Ive

seen northern tree transplanters treespade in action on a bobcat with tracks in muddy winter conditions. Impressive.

Winch and logsplitter should be no problem either, treespades need good hydraulic capability.

northerntreetransplanters

I didnt say they lacked traction, just ground clearance, and he asked for a pto winch.

Want a good starter forestry tractor. It needs to be low cost and multi-purpose. Here's my wish list -

Bucket to do pathways and move agregate

3rd services for log splitter

pto for wintching

mower attachment

snow plough

s.

Any 4 wheel drive tractor with a loader on it.

Or a unimog.

I have used my mog in the woods and it was great, I just don't do much work in the woods because you need either just a saw or a harvester to make money.

Front loaders are great on unimogs from what I have heard.

As with any multi purpose vehicle there is compromise on every task you are using it for instead of the exact machine that was built for said task.:001_smile:
