Sadly I disagree with that point. I used to put loads of effort in and get loads of money out. Now I put even more effort in and get even less money out.

Why do you carry on doing it then ?

He's probably taking about the recession and the increased amount of bob a job big ladder brigade tree workers snapping up the easy work ? Just a thought

You could put every hour in the week in to your business but how many of those hours consist of mincing around ... As far as I can see I'm just in business as a hobby... any way but!! 8-5 is hard core 5 days a week any thing I do over that with exception of a few saturdays Is at a slow and steady pace.

Average 6 days a week (usually work through one weekend and then get dragged away somewhere so I can't work the next!) and about 10-11 hours a day. So 60-66 hours a week on average I'd imagine.

Not my plan to continue this long term, but it's what needs to be done at the moment.

Generally 8.30 to 5.30 in day job, but some days can be 5am starts & 10pm finishes depending on where we're working, then 8 till 11 ish in the evenings on 'other jobs' [not counting 3 hours housework & sorting kids while wife's at work!], one full day every other weekend, sometimes more... so, er, usually about 25 hours a week, then another 40 looking at 'specialist' dating websites. But that's mostly stuck in front of a PC.

And I'm still f*in broke....

You need to ease off a bit mate....

I probably work between 30 and 40 hours per week (paid) but then there's the chipper, chainsaws and van etc to potter about with when time permits. I do enough to pay the bills and enough to save for a rainy day. I'm in my early 40's and to be honest, not that ambitious. I'm not saying I love the job, but I don't hate going to work either. Time seems to fly when I'm at work. However, theres more to life than work, especially when it's being raining most of the week. Anyhow, its friday afternoon and I'm going for the usual round of golf.
