Two house martins we have been hand rearing for the last three weeks since the nest was brought down in heavy rain. Now getting flight training in preparation for long flight to Africa, that's if they bloody leave home!

Years ago when we were at our previous house there was a nest every year in what we called the dustbin hole on the rafters. One year I went out to find the nest had fallen and two young uns with the parents flying in and out panicking. I nailed a margarine tub up and put the remains of nest and baby birds in and they came and carried on feeding then fligged as normal.

2 weeks ago my cousen rang me asking me if i wanted to by a male goshawk for £400. i was tempted but didnt have the space right away. Last week we turned up to a job and the customer had a few bops aswell, after talking about them for a while he told me he had a 3 year old male gos that he didnt have time for as he was hunting his female this year. He arrives next week ;-) i offered to pay but he insisted i could have it for nothing. Im chuffed to bits, ill upload photos when he arrives
