Not looking for the most dangerous just most useful. I spent the day doing some much needed maintenance on our Hakki pilki 2x after the gland unscrewed from the piston. After 2 hours of logging at 12.15 saturday the saw bar return spring snaps ( 2nd genuine one in 6 months ) of course all engineering shops shut at 12. Went to the local guy who repairs washing machines and robbed all the scrap machines. 2 bosch springs linked together works a treat.

Another occasion fitted a new pump drive rubber element ( genuine ) lasted 30 mins. Now have a tougher pattern unit fitted.

My happiest bodge was many years ago in a campsite when a core plug rusted through on my old S IIa

 

Sunday afternoon with a trailer full of canoes in tow.

 

Managed to clean it up and “araldite” a 2p coin over the hole, that bodge lasted me another year and for all I know it’s still running today

Middle of nowhere with a komatsu mini digger fencing on a Fri, job must be done, and the water bottle springs a hole where it vibrated against the mount. Out comes extra safe, extra tough durex to line the bottle worked a treat and home on time!

What was the planned use for the extra safe in the middle of no where?

On the way to do a site clearance job one Saturday couldn't be do any other day and clutch cable snapped use the pointy end of a saw file to drill a hole in the plastic end of clutch cable and threaded a small nail to reattach to top of clutch pedal job done lasted the rest of the of 60mile round trip

I do that with my bobcat. Original end cover for filter housing was lost so a pair of tights ( not mine) does the job.
