If they are anything like "strikes" the last one my family was involved in lasted over 18 months (not by choice) 1984 i think it finished, fortunatley my farther didn't work in the mines but he used to send/take food parcels to all my uncles every week to keep them going whilst they were on the picket line(not their choice).

People cannot retire and then live as long as they had worked and get an income from a pot into which they have paid very little. Its simple economics.

When the retirement age of 65 first came in the average man lived to 65 and 8 months, so paying people for 8 months was not a problem, paying people for 35 years is.

Where do these people think the money is going to come from?????????????????????

They want you to pay for it :001_rolleyes: in tax

For a laugh, I once told my Mrs that Centreparcs was a resort for Swingers. She then sat there in open mouthed horror as her mate was telling her that her parents went there every year and said that we should all go as a group. I was crying laughing.

Massive holidays, yeah right! My mrs is a teacher and works every night of the week doing lesson plans, marking etc, weekends she usually does marking for a few hours. Holidays well there is also work to be done then. If you add all her hours up in regard to her salary she ain't on that good a wage. People think they have it easy but that ain't the case.

Ditto.
