Cordless drills, opinions?

The most common probs with rechargeable drills are failed batteries, they are really easy and cheap to recondition see the link.

How to repair the battery pack in a power tool

The cheapest I seem to be able to get the cells for is about £30 + vat per battery. Do you think it is worth the effort I would think the replacement cells could be better quality but could they finish off an old cordless. I have a couple of 18 v Panasonics real wrist busters when new but they soon loose out to the batteries. The drills are about 4 years old and still mint but batteries are goosed

Good heads up on the wet drills Bob.

Got my Makita cordless and impact driver pretty wet a couple of weeks ago, ironically building a log store, but seem to have got away with it.

I'll be more careful next time.

Never used Milwaukee, but they seem pretty highly thought of.
