Does anyone else feel that Arbtalk has become Political Hate Talk?

so you're mainly on about threads in the lounge - don't usually see much political hate in the tree health care, cimber's talk or large equipment threads.

Wouldn't the lounge be better if the chat was all lovely, convivial, fraternizing even?

Hi, I'm pleasant and nice & so are you!

UK is finished, decent working people are being shafted by labor, and previously by tories, reform won't cure the problem as no matter how much sugar you put on sh1t, it's still sh1t. they will all lie to us to get in power then line their pockets in the relatively short time they have, because being the "opposition" is easy, just disagree with whoever is in the hot seat.

and when they get their chance they bend us over and it's just a different prick.

to be honest some of the feckers on here could start an argument in an empty room, and seem to search the forums for somebody to attack, and often for some long lost dispute from years ago.

the way things are going at the moment within this country I'll wager any forum that has a section that covers politics is much the same.

the country is sick to death of immigrant invasion, rape gangs, bent politicians, cover up after cover up, is it any wonder discord is rife.

you can ban people, you can ban discussion on this or any other forum, but you cant cure the problem by ignoring it, hiding it, or hiding from it, people will feel the same, division will still exist.

just my opinion, there are others.

I think the UK is close to finished. Not yet though:

Genuine question.

I take people as i find them . However the does seem to be as old feller says .

But you can't escape the UK issues , that we cant keep out  illegal tossers , like Nigel says we aren't the world's food bank.  The dinghy dwellers do not contribute ,  we also need a shake up of benefits , drug takers and the criminal justice system ... also no pandering to pride and cak like that

You've summed it up pretty well.

Personally I would much prefer it if arbtalk was a site full of arborists sharing questions and ideas, like it used to be.

These days forums seem to be a place for arguing with other strangers behind pseudonyms on topics completely unrelated to the forum.

Damn shame. I've met a good few friends and undeniably furthered my career with the help of this forum. I can't see how that's happening for new posters these days.

Yes Arbtalk has changed, along with many other things in life, like people, attitudes , and society in general and its only going to get worse i am sorry to say ?

40 years ago we used to go and have site meetings with a land agent or the estate manager and discus a woodland weather it be thinning, clear fell or for a pipe line going through, some things got written down and a price agreed and we just got on with it,

Today i get to meet some smartarse kid with a HSBC & TSB degree in woodland management telling me how to do my job that i been doing since late 1970s, then when i disagree with something they then snottaly remind me that they have a degree in woodland management,, OK jog on with it then you got the paperwork and i only have 40 odd years experience, now that does piss me off, One management  lad i met a few wk back at a site tuned up in a fleece and his office shoes, the day wasent great with sunshine one minuet then lashing it down next, he requested the site visit and when i said to him are putting your boots or wellies on, his answer was not got any ? best i could do for him was 2 Aldi carrier bags and some bailing string to cover his carpet creepers with hence when we returned to the cars he was soaked,

loads of things have changed, some for the good and some for the worse, internet is good, mobile phones are good to a extent but i hate to think how much working time is lost in the UK in one day, And i am no exception as my phone has not stopped ringing this last 2 wks, but i only got myself to keep going ATM, today i was doing all sorts and only got about half done of what i wanted to do but due to answering my phone i got several trees to look at and 2 woodland jobs to look at,,

Ok rant over,,,
