Could do, but have you tried turning a landy 130 and 16ft trailer around.

I also like a project and have a couple of other ideas on fitting mounted chipper to things.

Take Mark's idea and mod it a little- make the chipper drawbar removable. Push it up ramps from the side and then remove drawbar.

Shall I ask Khris?

Anyhow, didnt the old Vermeer 625 have the engine and cutting unit above the deck of the chipper? ie all bolted to the flat surface and nothing hanging down? I bought one years ago for a project but didnt get around to doing anything with it. I suppose you could cut off the axel, drawbar and build a subframe with fork slots and legs for it to stand on?

Being aircooled will cut down a bit of weight.

That could work on some jobs, but you would need a fair bit of room to load on and off, that's one reason for skid set up.

Could put it on a frame with quad wheels at one end and castors at the other, all tucked under the footprint of the chipper so you can spin it side on the trailer. Could incorporate fork pockets and detachable drawbar for different situations . Another option would be quad wheels at one end, props at the other and a foldable/detachable handle to 'barrow' it. Id incorporate some sort of wheels so you're not tied to lifting it everywhere anyway.

I like the idea of quadchip so it's on a turntable, then you can have the hopper on either side for working with the chipper still on trailer.

You can do that with any one you put on trailer by just picking it up with loader and turn it around, that's why I want to be able to pick it up with loader.

I am thinking a Quadchip on the front of trailer would be to much nose weight.
