Yeah its not a good idea like. I  bloke I used to sub to did the same thing with a bit of old t shirt. He thought it was a great idea an yanked the chipper up and down to show how well it worked until it nearly smacked him in the face when he pulled it right off the hitch. It looked like the cloth had jammed the locking pin/clip thing so it didnt lock onto the hitch properly.
