under powerd needs more hp.dies out to fast ,due to the lack of a no stress

The operator is the "no stress", a chipper needs automatic no stress as you want to walk away from it to get the next branch, with a grinder you are controlling it all the time.

dave have you ever used a predator ,unlike my old vermeer ,with that it had auto sweep so it would keep going ,the main prob not having a no stress on it, if the ground is heavy & wet it soon dies out once the cutter wheel has pulled the engine revs down even slitley ,the hydaulics are very slow to respond !!!!!!!

Is that for real!? What is it for, some kind of ship engine :confused1:

It’s the kind of thing you will find in the bowels of a supertanker and the like.

They used to make the at Crossleys (later Rolls Royce) in Manchester. 2 stroke diesels the size of a house. When you are near them they are the kind of thing that you can see but the scale makes them hard to comprehend.

They only rev to about 100 rpm. Not fast but enough torque to jump start stalled planets.
