Forestry thinning day rate

Anyone got any ideas for a day rate on thinning small woodlands for 2x cutters and 2x labourers we are going to be felling, chipping and skidding larger logs to burn on a fire also stacking the medium logs in (habitat piles/log walls) between trees, creating wood chip paths after mulching with a 3 ton excavator also will have log grab attachment I will be charging the customer separately for the hire of the digger and attachments.

Hope to have it done in 5-7 days.

Ive got a rough figure myself but a 2nd opinion would help with this will appreciate it and thanks in advance.

Tree surgeon day rate is whatever you need to make money. Anything you charge will be expensive compared to a proper low impact forestry contractor due to your reliance upon labour, but the customer probably won't realise that so jsut charge what you need to make it work for you.

Na bit more involved when i say labour i mean groundsman used to charge the man £650-750 a day for 2 men so I was thinking £1000-1200 a day customer not shy of a few quid

How many tonne of timber will the 4 of you get down in a day ?? the 1000 to 1200 sounds a bit o the steep side ??

What size area are you talking and what size trees? Could it be more cost effective to put some good hard cutters in get it down and stacked the  go in with the digger and chipper to tidy up.

£650 is what comes to mind not including any machinery but it depends if you're looking at it as a harvesting job or something else. And location, speed etc.

If you can get £750 a day for two groundsmen why do you even need to ask and why don’t you have your own digger already?
