I cut in forestry and my take home wage isn't very good after expenses. 1100 top line for local work per week minus expenses etc. Self employed.

Not sure what the going rate is for a self employed grounds man, been thinking a while about going and doing that for a bit if the money was OK as would be nice to do something easier

If you're self employed, you set your own wage 🤐

On a day rate with a fair bit of expenses so really not much scope for setting a high wage.

Out of 900-1100 a week.  I'll pay myself 350-400 in my hand a week and still end up struggling to save for the tax man 😂

I can’t say in your industry, I’m not in it. It depends where you are, around here, Midlands,£1100 isn’t bad, when I move back down South… more East £1500 subbing/freelancing in. More on more technical work.

Your earning to expenses ratio is too low

What’s going on with the industry? Wages don’t match what we have to do and supply as subcontractors. Is it just me or is the industry knackered??

Where abouts are you? You might be in an area that has low pay rates.
