Housing Crisis - a novel idea

Two eighteen hole courses near us have been built on - I remember them being turned into golf courses when I was a kid about 50 odd years ago. Now a sea of concrete and brick ☹️

A woman was playing a round of golf when a bee stung her. Fearing an allergic reaction she ran to the clubhouse and told the pro that she had been stung. He asked where and she said between the first and second holes. He replied "your stance is too wide".

Housing for youngsters is terrifying , the rental market round here is probably the same as the rest of the country . Its never been so easy being in arb and living in the countryside finding accommodation. New builds are awful and a single person is pretty much priced out of the market . I've done some domestic works  at estate type properties and they have empty cottages which I just don't understand .

Everywhere I go there is collosal amounts of housing being whacked up. Who is suddenly filling these new houses and where were they before is what I want to know? Sure immigration won't help but are they the ones who would normally move in to a 3 bedroom new build in Cornwall for example? Aside from that where has the massive demand come from? More divorces? More people living alone?

Population growth,people selling up in cities and moving out to work from home?

Re estate cottages. I think landlords have too much legislation to comply with to rent out 

their more ‘ basic ‘ cottages

the days of renting cheap drafty  farm cottages with slug trails up the wall and Smokey chimneys  are no more. For better or worse ?

But wouldn't there than be loads of empty properties in cities. They're being filled by someone which is probably why people are struggling to find anywhere to rent...

Half of these are investment properties, drive around any town and city and it's pitch black.

Yeah. I went to stay in London with family earlier in the year. Massive developments of luxury apartments etc in the area yet appartly alot of them are bought up my Japs/Americans and Arabs for just that reason....

The new houses being put up, to fill the golf courses around here are 5 bedroomed, 6 bathroom executive houses with 1% 'affordable' houses in the mix.

Never a confirmed bus or train link - which excludes anyone over 65 really looking to the future when they have to give up their cars.

350k+ to exclude anyone under 30

350k+ to exclude anyone with a young family and nursey fees

 

The ideal market I think are 50 year olds with teenage children

 

 

No community centres... a social wasteland

No religious centres... a moral wasteland

No shops... a community wasteland

...and no golf courses... a health wasteland

....
