No, I think when you are face to face with someone you can gauge their meaning by their expressions, the written word can easily be taken the wrong way.

Things do get lost in translation in things like text messages etc..

 

Take for example.    "phook off you monumental bellend"

There are a few ways this can be interpreted during face to face contact however just one or two on text....
