I played for West Dean in the collage grounds for a time . Limited over stuff and a beer in the bar . Very civilized . 🙂

Sandyford CC for us, and talking beer, cricket clubs were one of the few places you could get a beer after 3pm on a Sunday back in the day.

Not usually a big cricket fan gav but there is something special about the ashes. I bet you and the lad had a super time any plans for the next 2 tests if you can get a ticket.

We are going to day four at the oval.  So I am really hoping we win the next test and then the last one could be an amazing finale!

Good to see the great sport discussed on here at last!

So... Bairstow out as he butters his fingers before standing behind the stumps and can't bat at the moment?

Ben Foakes as replacement.

Discuss.

It's gong to be a tough call re recalling Anderson for Old Trafford but maybe Ollie Robinson's back isn't good so that may play into the selectors' hands.

Anyone know what happened to Stokes' hamstring/glute the other day?  He was really struggling during that amazing 155 knock but seemed fine a couple of days later if not sooner.

the way England are playing this ashes test match is more like 100 overs match which makes it more entertaining, and the Aussies don't seem to have an answer with the team they have but an Earley deceleration in the first match and rain stop play at Manchester they will not get the ashes.

Eng made all sorts of mistakes at Edgbaston and Lords, where Bairstow cost us probably 100 runs with dropped catches.

There can be no complaints about the weather at Old Trafford robbing us as we gave away both the first games.

For me it comes down to the premature declaration by Stokes in the first test.

Still, no worries, been a great series.

Agreed . should have been 400+ before calling it .
